The company's founding, it's development of travel bases in South America, the Pacific Ocean, and Atlantic Ocean set the stage for the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, and the entry of the United States into WWII. Fully committed to winning the war Pan American Clipper Planes are shown in the vital role of supplying and transporting military personnel and dignitaries. Also shown are routes developed by Pan American being used as supply lines by all American and allied airlines to get troops and material to the front lines. From the sandy deserts of Africa to the tropics of Midway and Wake Island to the mysterious lands of China and India the clipper ships painted in wartime camouflage traverse the dangerous skies above enemy lands. With rarely seen color footage of the Flying Tiger P-40s, the Fairchild 91 Baby Clipper Amphibian, and the famous Cannonball Run Clipper Planes this film is a must for any vintage airplane or airline enthusiast.
